Some gun owners continue to insist that the government wants to take away their guns, when that is not what mindful lawmakers propose. Gun regulation and background checks are a far cry from “taking away our guns.” It’s like a provocative cry that someone (likely the NRA or gun manufacturers?) started to get the public all riled up about this issue.
Most gun owners find these mass shootings as awful as the rest of us do, so why don’t they speak up?
Gun lobbyists don’t seem to want to discuss any limitations at all, because they say it infringes on their freedom. In the meantime, children, churchgoers, and people going to the movies have been endangered by reckless lack of gun control laws.
What will it take for gun lovers to have a discussion about ways to keep guns out of the wrong hands?
