In the wake of recent high lead findings and alterations of water lead reports in Flint, Michigan, the Environmental Protection Agency will be stepping to conduct reviews.
Apparently the person in charge of taking water samples around Flint was instructed to take off the high lead level reports, though the state denies any wrongdoing.
During an 18-month period, the City of Flint was taking water samples from the Flint River, and residents were complaining of the taste, smell and color of the drinking water. E coli levels were found not to be treatable by the level of chemicals being used to kill them.
For over a year state officials claimed the drinking water was safe, but children in Flint were showing high blood levels, a finding which could not be denied.
The EPA says it’s fully reviewing what happened in Flint.
