Take a Look at Our Brand New Website

If you have made a visit to our website recently, you may have noticed quite a few changes. More than a few, actually. In fact, we gave it a complete top-to-bottom makeover.

The layout of the new Deratany and Kosner website.

We found that the DCFS had failed to conduct thorough investigations per their own rules, ignored their regulations requiring interviews of the children alone, and continued to ignore the children’s specific complaints about the beatings. Details of the extent of the abuse Anthony and his siblings endured can be found in our press release at the bottom of this newsletter.

Information on the recovery from an incident. It can be straining and stressful. Searching for the information you need should not become unnecessarily burdensome. We have made sure in this redesign that all information you are looking for can be discovered in just one or two clicks. Additionally, we have made sure the information on each page has been organized for optimal accessibility. For example, our Results & Verdicts previously had all cases listed simply by their settlement or award amounts along with case descriptions underneath. Previously, it could take some time to find one that may be relevant to you. On the redesigned page, you will find three new categories--Social Service Negligence and Child Abuse, Hospital and Nursing Home Negligence, and Personal Injury and Wrongful Death--which will make finding comparable cases to your own far simpler.
Information on the improved readability of the site. Text states, "We evaluated every page to confirm whether all information they contained was accessible, relevant, and understandable. Everything that would not best serve you has been culled. If you have been in a car accident that you are not at fault for and are looking to see if a lawyer handles your type of accident, you do not need to read through reams of information about more niche scenarios. You likely just want to know if the firm will be able to take on your case. Likewise, you also are likely looking for your information in plain language and masked over legalese. We want to make sure we have the relevant information that matters to you and is easy-to-understand."
Statement on yellow background. Text states, "On our new website you will find now Child Abuse and Negligence and Social Services Abuse and Negligence as part of our practice areas. While we have a long history handling these types of cases, we updated the language to better identify the perpetrating circumstance. On the Child Abuse and Negligence page, you will find information about types of abuse and negligence, signs of child abuse and negligence, as well as what to do if you suspect a child is being abused or neglected. On the Social Services Abuse and Negligence page, you will find information on the specific ways social services agencies can cause abuse and neglect to children in their care--ranging from failure to follow up on a call to a reported abusive situation to placing the child with a harmful family that was not properly vetted."

At Deratany & Kosner, we are committed to due diligence and excellence. We believe part of that is providing you with a clear understanding of how we best can help, and making sure that information is easily accessible. We believe you should not have to sacrifice your time and energy criss-crossing, backtracking, and circling around a website just to find what you need. You deserve the dignity of accessibility. Having a user-friendly website is just one way to show our care and commitment to you.
