3 REASONS WHY YOU NEED A TECHNOLOGY UPGRADE

March 9, 2016

Just about everyone is up to date with their iPhones, tablets and cellular watches. Even though you think you are using the most tech savvy equipment out there, are you forgetting about the importance of the little things? Here are some tips to make sure that your business is firing on all cylinders.

  1. Do You Really Need to Hire Someone for That?

SEO is that relative you forgot existed until family reunions, and then you remember why you never remember them or see them outside of family events. SEO is not a pretty thing. It isn’t something that can be easily navigated and weaved through. It also has the ability to hide in the back of your website and you never think to go looking for it. SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is something that most are unfamiliar with. Sure, you know the name and what it means but do you really know what it does and why it is important to your company? In many cases, if you are trying to reach a large audience, an outside source is the way to go when managing SEO. And yes, it is that important. SEO is what helps drive you to the top of Google, increasing site clicks. So, bring in another set of eyes to help you fine tune and manage your site’s SEO.

  1. Should You Upgrade Your Email?

Email addresses are important. Everyone knows that. We send more emails than we do phone calls. If you are using an email domain ending in @gmail.com, @aol.com or @yahoo.com, it is time to upgrade. Your business should purchase a domain for less than $20 a year to have @yourbusinessname.com as the email address for all of its users. It looks professional and shows that you are willing to pay to have a clean and noteworthy appearance. Yes, it isn’t the website or something that is so largely seen, but it is important to portray your professional attitude.

  1. Is it Really Necessary to Update Your Website?

Yes. There is nothing that can be said that would make anyone think that you should stick with an old, sloppy, outdated site. Your website is like your store front. Treat it as such. Take the extra time to update content. Is that photo from 2016 or 2001? A clean layout is the style and preferred format for web users. Is this something that you can incorporate into your site? Also ask the question: If I am the consumer, what do I really think about this site? Is it easy to navigate? Is the information up to date? Does it look messy and unprofessional? Cater to your audience and show the same service to clients online as you would in person.
